Samsung Develops World's Smallest Camera Module
June 30, 2005
Samsung announced that it has successfully developed a 300,000-pixel camera module sized 6x6x4.5mm, making it the world's smallest. The volume of this module is 30% smaller than a module Samsung developed in 2004. The company used the flip chip method to assemble the module. As Samsung owns the patent for flip chip bonding, it does not expect competitors to overtake them in this area in the near future.
